Last week, South Korean giant Samsung officially sent out invites for an Unpacked event to be held in New York on August 23, where the company is likely to launch the next generation Galaxy Note 8. And while rumours about the new device have been going round-the-clock, meanwhile the Galaxy Note 8 has been spotted at the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification website, confirming the launch.
Four variants of the Galaxy Note 8 have received the FCC certifications in the US. Though it has been listed in the FCC, no other details about the specifications have been outlined yet.
While earlier rumours suggested that the device is going to be huge, a new report in Forbes said that the device will be massive sporting a 6.3-inch display. Samsung will unveil Galaxy Note 8 ‘Emperor Edition’ of the flagship smartphone with 256GB internal memory.
It will also be first device to carry a premium dual camera. Other changes included in the device include USB Type-C charging, all while retaining the headphone jack, slim bezels and an Infinity Display.
The upcoming flagship is rumoured to sport two 12MP sensors with optical image stabilisation. The camera setup on the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to be in a horizontal position and the two sensors will be separated from the fingerprint sensor by the LED flash and along with the heart rate tracker in the middle.
Other leaks have indicated a Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 SoC (depending on the market) along with 6GB of RAM.
The phone will reportedly cost €999, or slightly over $900 in the US and might be released in black, blue, and gold.
