LG is betting big on its next V series smartphone “V30” and has been creating a lot of buzz among consumers lately by teasing features and specifications. While it is known that the LG V30 would have finest cameras, facial recognition, voice unlocking and a 6-inch plastic OLED display, this time the South Korean giant has said that the V30 offer next-generation audio functions unseen in a smartphone before for a personalised sound experience.

The LG V30 will come with a 32-bit Advanced Hi-Fi quad DAC powered by ESS Technology’s SABRE ES9218P and will present users two new features -- digital filters and sound presets.

While the original Hi-Fi Quad DAC emphasised delivering Hi-Fi sound as close as possible to the original source by minimising distortion and white noise, Advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC offers more customisable options and we have managed to cut the distortion rate down to 0.0002 per cent, said LG.

Digital filters are normally only available in expensive digital audio players, improves the pre- and post-ringing of the impulse response with filters that can be customised to personal tastes. In developing sound presets, LG engineers studied the characteristics of popular tones and identified the best combination of sounds to create four optimal pre-programmed settings: enhanced, detailed, live and bass.

The LG V30 also includes technology from partner company MQA Ltd. that facilitates high resolution audio streaming, which is considered as the next big trend in mobile music. The company will also be bundling a pair of B&O PLAY earphones.

Earlier this month, LG said that the V30 will debut with the new UX 6.0+ which has been optimised to work better with the 18:9 OLED FullVision display while offering more personalisation options for a more intuitive user experience.

The “Second Screen” in the LG V20 has also been evolved to become “Floating Bar” on the V30. The semi-transparent Floating Bar allows for quick access to frequently used functions and can be dragged completely off the FullVision display when not needed.

The device is expected to come with dual lens camera setup with Graphy, a feature in the camera’s Manual Mode which gives professional quality photography capabilities. With Graphy, users can choose from among a portfolio of professional shots, each with a different style and mood or they can download photos taken by professionals from the Graphy website or mobile app and apply those metadata presets -- such as white balance, shutter speed, aperture and ISO -- to the photos taken with the V30.

There are rumours that LG will also be launching V30+ with minor improvements along with V30 at IFA in Berlin on August 31.
