Today, Canon has launched the EOS 850D, a versatile camera that comes with dual pixel CMOS AF, EOS Intelligent Tracking, and high-speed auto-focus (iTR AF) for face detection and 4K video recording.

According to Canon, the EOS 850D is ideal for photographers who are looking to acquire new skills and want to upgrade from an entry-level beginner model to a mid-segment device with high-end functions and operability.

The camera will be available for purchase in India in April 2020.

Canon EOS 850D specs

The EOS 850D comes with a 24.1-megapixel APS-C size CMOS sensor and a DIGIC 8 imaging processor. The camera offers an improved maximum ISO performance to 25,600 for still images, which can be expanded up to 51,200, making the EOS 850D a great device for shooting at night and in dark conditions.

The camera has an optical viewfinder with all cross-type 45 AF points, allowing for a wider area to be covered. The camera has EOS iTR, an Intelligent Tracking and Recognition in Optical View Finder, which enables users to detect faces even in environments where it's difficult to detect skin colour against the background. And when it is paired with a compatible lens, AF is possible in an 88 per cent horizontal by 100 per cent vertical area.

Additionally, Eye Detection AF is available on the EOS 850D that allows the camera to automatically focus on the eyes of a human subject while allowing the photographer to focus on capturing natural expressions.

The EOS 850D can record 4K UHD video in 23.98p/25p format for a cinematic feel and full-HD video in 59.94p/50p format. There is also a 4K time-lapse movie function to capture time-lapse movies of cityscapes in an ultra-high resolution through a selection of pre-set scenes or simple manual settings.

With Wi-Fi available on the EOS 850D, users can easily transfer images to smartphones and laptops.
