Discover makes it even easier to get things done, from reading the latest articles, booking your next vacation, or getting the latest sport highlights, right in Messenger.

Facebook popular Discover tab that allows users to find nearby places, bots and business is now available for Messenger users in India.

The social media giant announced the Discover section at F8 in June to help people find new and businesses to interact with on Messenger.

Here’s how Discover works -- when you tap on the Discover icon on the lower right hand corner of the Messenger Home screen, you can browse by category, recently visited businesses and featured experiences. Discover makes it even easier to get things done, from reading the latest articles, booking your next vacation, or getting the latest sport highlights, right in Messenger.

Here’s what you’ll find in Discover:

Recently Used: Shows you the bots and businesses you recently interacted with.

Featured: A representation of the full range of experiences available in Messenger. Helps people find bots and businesses to explore.

Categories: Bots and businesses organized by topic. Refreshed frequently so you can find new experiences.

Earlier this month, Facebook introduced Disaster Maps for India to help communities across the country recover and rebuild faster from natural disasters by sharing critical information in a timely manner.

The announcement was made at company’s first Disaster Response Summit in India along with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

Facebook will now share its disaster maps, developed using aggregated, de-identified data, with NDMA. These maps can aid swift disaster response by providing real-time, actionable information.

Facebook now has over two billion-plus users globally and users in India have crossed the 240 million mark.
