Reno will be the second sub-brand from Chinese smartphone maker Oppo. The brand currently offers distinct products at different price bands under Realme and Oppo-branded smartphones.

Oppo has unveiled a new sub-brand Reno that will launch its first smartphone in China on April 10. Oppo Vice President Shen Yiren made the announcement on China’s social networking website Weibo revealing brand’s logo that says ‘I am Reno’ and also uses lively colours.

The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and will have Oppo’s 10x optical zoom capability which was showcased at Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona in February.

The Oppo Reno smartphone will pack a 4,065mAh battery and fast charging, added Yiren. While there are no other details of the smartphone yet, Oppo has uploaded a landing page on its official e-commerce shop where interested consumers can fill their details to get notified of the first sale.

After launching in China, the smartphone could soon land in India -- Oppo’s another potential business market where the company already enjoys a substantial market share.

Oppo acquired eight per cent share in the fourth quarter of 2018, said a report by market research firm Counterpoint Research.

The company recently launched F11 and F11 Pro smartphones in India. Both the devices are equipped an advanced camera system featuring a 48MP+5MP dual camera system at the rear, f1.79 aperture, 6P lens, and 1/2.25-inch image sensors to bring more light.

Oppo F11 Pro will be available on Flipkart, Amazon.in, Paytm, Snapdeal and Oppo stores for Rs 24,990, starting March 15 in thunder black and aurora green colours.
