American watch maker Fossil Group today launched its next generation of smartwatches across brands including Fossil Gen 4 Smartwatch Venture HR and Fossil Explorist HR, Skagen Falster 2, Michael Kors Access Runway, Emporio Armani Connected, A|X Armani Exchange Connected and Diesel Full Guard.

The new line of Generation 4 watches is packed with unique design traits to make room for customisation from strap to dial – offering a plenty of watch faces ranging from fashion forward to novelty for the users to choose from.  Additionally, users can now charge their device within an hour to last all day owing to the optimised charge time.

Powered with Wear OS by Google and the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 platform, the new devices offer features such as heart-rate tracking, untethered GPS, swim-proof functionality, etc.

“At Fossil, it is our endeavour to provide our customers with the best of both, fashion and technology. With the launch of next Generation of smartwatches, we have amplified the technological features on the wrist while maintaining our aesthetically fashioned designs, creating an experience individual to each consumer. We are certain they will enjoy it”, said Johnson Verghese, Managing Director, Fossil Group.

According to the company, the heart rate functionality was long wanted by consumers and is also considered a top priority for all the brands in their next gen smartwatches. Additionally, Fossil group wanted to create exclusive watch dials that allowed users to easily access manual readings directly from their watch face. Whether going for a run outside or hitting the gym, you can automatically track your heart rate during logged exercises with Google Fit.

“Take a manual heart rate reading and automatically track heart rate across multiple types of workouts using Google Fit. Heart rate graphs show progress throughout a large variety of workouts and improves workout tracking experience. And exclusive-to-Fossil, dials have heart rate integrated into the designs, showing users their beats per minute on their watch face at a quick glance,” the company said.

The GPS capabilities allow users track walks, and runs, hikes, bike rides, and more via Google Fit and third-party fitness apps without having to bring your phone along. Your watch will automatically map and track your location and distance during logged workouts. And thanks to added swim proof functionality, users can track swim workouts, hang poolside or hop in the shower without risk of damaging their smartwatch.
