Forza 6 is bigger than any other game from the franchise, but is it the ultimate racing title? We find out.

In the gaming world, sequences have a lot higher success rate than Hollywood or even Bollywood. The reason for this could be because almost all titles in the virtual world have sequels, which gives developers numerous chances of improving their craft. Same logic applies for Microsoft Xbox One’s flagship racing franchise, Forza. There are a lot of expectations from this new sixth edition and we can say upfront that Turn 10, the game developers, have ironed out a lot of Forza 5’s drawbacks. Don’t worry that is not the only highlight of the game, there are other new features like the car list, which has now doubled from 200 to 460. What is good to see is that the game consists of all types of cars — hot hatches, track cars, SUVs for rallying and of course, supercars.

Let’s start with two new driving mode editions — night and rain driving. Racing in the dark is extremely challenging, but Forza 6 comes with even more dim lit roads then you would actually come across in real life. Don’t be surprised if you feel the headlights don’t improve your visibility as that is how its suppose to be and yes, the roads will also feel narrower, turns will be more challenging and suddenly the cars feel a lot more pacey.

If that was tough then how about driving in rain soaked wet conditions. You are forced to pit your wits against these harsh conditions. You will feel that the car just needs a reason to spin off the track. Turn 10 have again taken difficult conditions and have multiplied them by ten, therefore, one is left quite frustrated. Everything from huge puddles on the track, aquaplanning, slippery tarmac are all obstacles that will be thrown at you. The only way to overcome all this is by dedicating more play time.

More good news for die hard virtual racers, Forza 6 comes with more world class locales than its previous title, 26 to be precise. After all, without these tracks, all these cars would be quite useless. The five new additions are Rio de Janeiro, Daytona International Speedway, Watkins Glen, Brands Hatch and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which has been rebuilt after extensive track renovations in 2014. What make these Forza tracks enticing are the accurate, detailed architecture like sweeping corners and picturesque straights and with realistic natural settings in the background. The crowd, on the other hand, could have looked and sounded a lot more lively.
Forza has got the handling spot on and certainly would give Sony Playstation’s Gran Turismo a strong competition. The playability is in a different league all together and if you find driver aids cramping your style then simply switch it off. But keep in mind you have a very good chance of hitting something.

Forza 6 is a major improvement over 5. We love the numerous options of cars, but unfortunately you can get a Lamborghini Aventador without really working hard. Before you know it, your garage is full of supercars and vintage models. Personally, we think it should be more challenging. The graphics and gameplay are top notch, which make it a must buy game for all racers in the Xbox world.
