UPDATE: In what could be called a repeat of last year’s Pixel devices, a video by a YouTube channel has revealed important information about the Google’s upcoming Pixel 4a device. According to a  video by TecnoLike Plus, Google’s next affordable Pixel smartphone offering will sport a 5.81-inch display with a resolution of 1080x2340 pixels. Under the hood, the phone is seen featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor which is coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space.

We have already seen that the Pixel 4a will have a square camera module like the Pixel 4, but unlike the flagship version, the affordable model will likely come with a single camera. The video claims that the Pixel 4a will have a 12MP shooter on the back and an 8MP front snapper. Further, the 3.5mm jack can be seen on the top, and the phone will have a USB Type-C port. The Pixel 4a phone is expected to house a 3,080mAh battery, and will run Android 10.

While there have been several Pixel 4a renders making rounds on the internet, the latest real-life image of this year’s affordable offering by Google has given an idea of what to expect from it. The image was tweeted by TechDroider, who has already shared a couple of images in the past. This time, the pictures show the back panel of the smartphone. They also show that the ‘a’ version has a similar design as the latest flagship by Google, the Pixel 4.

In the images, we can see the phone sporting a fingerprint sensor at the spot as it was in the Google Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3a smartphones. The camera module, however, resembles the one in the Pixel 4. The smartphone is seen with a single lens and an LED flash. Further, the smartphone has a single tone back and looks like it is made of plastic. We also see the white lock button, which means Google is continuing with the Pixel smartphone colour scheme.

The Pixel 4a in the image is likely a prototype because of the branding on the lower half of the image. Google phones retail with ‘G’ logo, and the company uses different characters for prototypes. You can also see a code just above the fingerprint sensor, hinting that it is one of the testing devices. Previous leaks have shown the phone with a punch-hole display, and given the opening in the case on the top, it seems that the phone will have a 3.5mm jack too.

Google launched the Pixel 4 last year, however, the phone isn’t available in India. It has Soli radar chip that doesn’t work in India. But the Pixel 4a won’t have this technology and may prove to be a boost in smartphone sales for the tech giant. Rumour mill suggests that the phone would compete against the likes of the OnePlus 8, Apple iPhone 9, Samsung Galaxy Note10 Lite, and Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite.
