Extending its affordable selfie-focussed series, domestic smartphone maker Micromax has launched Selfie 2 smartphone at Rs 9,999 and will be available for purchase at retail stores starting from August 1.

Selfie 2 comes with 8MP camera on the front with flash and a 13MP rear camera with Sony sensors. The camera app comes with several camera modes including auto-scene detection mode, super pixel feature along with Bokeh option that captures the depth and distance information of the subject in detail.

Super Pixel feature is a new age technology that lets you capture pictures that are super clear with minimum noise and blur. The phone comes with Gallery 4.0 which uses image and facial recognition technologies.

The 5.2-inch Selfie 2 is powered by MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor paired up with 3GB of RAM and runs on Android Nougat operating system.

Micromax says, "As MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor is designed to optimise power consumption, it saves up to 30 per cent power consumption and ensures seamless gaming and multitasking experience.”

The smartphone comes with 32GB of internal storage which is expandable to 64GB via a microSD card. Selfie 2 houses 3,000mAh battery which the company claims to deliver a standby time of 250 hours, 11 hours of talk-time and music playback of up to 22 hours.

The company recently launched Canvas 1 in the country at Rs 6,999 that comes with 5-inch HD display, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front facing camera and supports 4G VoLTE.

Running on Android Nougat, Canvas 1 is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
