Google in a new update has combined the Google Pay and Google Pay Send apps. Now, you can send or request money right from the Google Pay app if you live in the US (soon in the UK). And if you picked up the tab using Google Pay, it’s even easier to split the bill. Just tap on a recent purchase and instantly request money from up to five people.
Users can also save their event tickets and boarding passes so that they don’t have to worry about them, if they happen to forget them. Saved tickets will be available with your loyalty cards, gift cards and offers on the Android app’s new Passes tab. When it’s time for your event or flight, use your phone as your ticket – no printing is required.
And since Google Pay can be used on both desktop and iOS, in stores or on transit, on your phone or with your Assistant, the company has synced the app with Google Account, so if you update your payment info on the web, it’ll be reflected on your phone. Plus, if you download the app, you’ll be able to quickly set up eligible cards saved to your Google Account to pay with your phone in stores.
Google introduced Google Pay that replaces company’s earlier payment methods Android Pay and Google Wallet. The app is designed to offer fast, simple checkout with easy access to rewards and serves as one spot for purchases, passes and payment methods. So, whether you are shopping on Chrome or with your Assistant, Google Pay will provide a consistent checkout experience using the cards saved to your Google Account.
The company is also working with partners online and in stores, so you will soon see Google Pay on sites, in apps and at your favourite places around the world.
The Home tab in the Google Pay gives you the info right when you need it. See your recent purchases, find nearby stores, enjoy easy access to rewards and get helpful tips.
The Cards tab is an easy way to keep everything you need at checkout organised and ready. It’s where you can store your credit and debit cards, loyalty programmes, offers and even that stack of gift cards from last year’s birthday.
Users can use Google Pay in transit in cities such as Kiev, London and Portland (with more coming soon). Like all Google products, Google Pay comes with strong security protections to safeguard your account and personal data from security threats.
