OnePlus has finally launched the refreshed version of its flagship OnePlus 7 in India. Called the OnePlus 7T, the smartphone takes forward the Chinese company’s tradition of launching two flagship phones in a year. The OnePlus 7T has a lot of differences as compared to the OnePlus 7 that was launched earlier this year. It now has a new design, a triple camera setup and an improved display. At a jam-packed event at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Delhi, the tech giant also unveiled OnePlus TV, and announced OnePlus Pay digital wallet.

The OnePlus 7T will be available in two variants: 8GB RAM + 128GB UFS 3.0 storage for a price of Rs 37,999 and 8GB RAM + 256B UFS 3.0 storage that will cost users Rs 39,999. The phone will be available with an option to choose from Glacier Blue and Frosted Silver colours from September 28 on Amazon.in and OnePlus expereince stores.

OnePlus 7T specifications

The OnePlus 7T sports a 6.55-inch Super AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, which we saw in the Pro variant launched earlier this year. It also supports HDR10+. Thanks to the waterdrop notch, the display offers a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. Under the hood, the phone comes equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor, which is an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 855 SoC. It is claimed to be 15 per cent more efficient than the vanilla mobile platform. The phone houses a 3,800mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T support. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has already said that the new tech offers 23 per cent faster charging as compared to its predecessor. The phone runs Android 10, which makes it the first phone globally to ship with Android 10 out-of-the-box.

The biggest change in the refreshed version is a triple camera setup (the OnePlus 7 had a dual camera system). All the three sensors and a dual-tone flash are incorporated in a circular module which is placed at the centre of the back panel. The primary camera consists of a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor that produces 12MP binned images.

The second camera has a 16MP sensor with an ultra-wide angle lens that offers 117-degree of field-of-view. The third camera has a 12MP sensor with a telephoto lens offering a 2x zoom. OnePlus says that the phone can shoot SlowMo videos at 960fps, the 'Super Stable' and there is a dedicated ultra-wide Nightscape mode to capture well-lit images in dark conditions. On the front is a 16MP sensor and it is situated in the waterdrop notch. The phone can also shoot macro images.
