Xiaomi spin-off brand Poco has announced that its second smartphone, the Poco X2, will be launched on February 4 in India. The company announced the development on Twitter and has made a Poco X2 dedicated page live on poco.in. According to Poco India, the event will start at 12 p.m. at yet-to-be-announced venue in New Delhi. In addition, Flipkart has also revealed a microsite teasing a display with higher refresh rate.

Poco India website highlights that the Poco X2 will have ‘extreme refresh rate’ and ‘extreme gaming’. It is likely that the phone’s display will have 120Hz refresh rate. As per the images shared on the poco.in, the smartphone will have Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile platform, a cooling tech, a multi camera setup, Type-C port and a headphone jack. On Flipkart, the company has asked its fans to ‘come back tomorrow for the Reveal’.

It was extensively reported that Poco India would launch the Poco F2, however, a report suggested that the phone might be called Poco X2. As per a Geekbench listing, the Poco X2 is will have 8GB RAM and will run Android 10 OS. The listing also revealed that the handset will use a motherboard with a codename ‘phoenixin’. Xiaomi used ‘phoenix’ motherboard codename for its Redmi K30, hinting that the phone could be rebranded Redmi K30 4G smartphone.

Redmi K30 has a 120Hz refresh rate, a quad rear camera setup and dual selfie cameras in the punch-hole display. In fact, the phone bottom edge looks a lot like the Redmi K30 4G variant. Whatever it may be, it seems that Poco is back again to disrupt the market. The difference is that Poco India is now an independent brand, it will have its own team working on the smartphone and it is expected to do better as compared to its success with the Poco F1.
