Tech giant Microsoft has unveiled its next gen gaming console – Xbox Series X which will arrive in 2020. According to Microsoft, the Xbox Series X will be fastest, most powerful console ever and will set a new bar for performance, speed and compatibility. The company revealed the new console at the Game Awards. The Xbox Series X looks more like a PC than what we have seen in the previous Xbox consoles.

The Xbox Series X will also support both vertical and horizontal orientation. Alongside the Xbox Series X, the company also unveiled the new Xbox Wireless Controller. The new controller comes with a Share button and the controller will be compatible with Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs, and will be included with every Xbox Series X.

Microsoft demonstrated Hellblade 2, a new game from Ninja Theory to on Xbox Series X to showcase its processing and graphic prowess. Microsoft’s Xbox Chief, Phil Spencer, said that Series X can deliver four times the processing power of Xbox One X.

The Xbox Series X offers 4K at 60FPS, with possibility of up to 120FPS, including support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and 8K capability. The console is powered by the custom-designed processor leveraging the latest Zen 2 and next generation RDNA architecture from AMD. The Variable Rate Shading (VRS) technology and the next-generation SSD will help developers virtually eliminate load times and bring players into their gaming worlds faster than ever before.

The console has Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) built-in, giving developers new functionality like Dynamic Latency Input (DLI) to make Xbox Series X the most responsive console ever. The console is backward compatible.
