Taiwanese electronics manufacturer, Acer has launched the refreshed Swift 5 laptop at the next@acer online event. The extremely portable laptop weighs around 1 kilogram (2.2lbs) and has a maximum thickness of 0.59-inch. It is available in two different colours – safari gold and mist green.
The front of the device houses a 14-inch Full-HD IPS touchscreen display with thin bezels around it and a web camera at the top. The device has a 90% screen-to-body ratio. The screen had 300 nits brightness and supports 72 percent of the NTSC gamut. Keeping in mind the ongoing pandemic, the entire laptop has an antimicrobial coating.
The Acer Swift 5 model is powered by the upcoming 11th-Gen Intel Core processors, which include the integrated graphics memory based on the new Xe architecture. There is also an option for the NVIDIA GeForce MX350 GPU. The Acer Swift 5 houses several ports, which include HDMI, USB Type-C Thunderbolt, and the USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports. The device also holds a 3.5mm audio jack on the right side.
Other connectivity options on the laptop include WiFi 802.11ac (WiFi 6) and Bluetooth 5.0. The newly launched notebook has a 56Wh battery, which, as per the company, will last all day and it can be fast-charged which enables 4 hours of use with 30 minutes of charging.
The Acer Swift 5 is priced at $999.00 (Roughly ₹75,500). It will go on sale in the U.S. from October. There is no official word on when Acer is planning to launch the abovesaid notebook in the Indian market.
