Telecom giant Airtel has introduced a new prepaid plan that bundles messaging and data benefits together with a free Netflix Basic subscription, offering a one-stop solution for users seeking OTT (over-the-top) benefits for longer validity. Under this Airtel Prepaid plan of Rs 1,499, you will get 3GB of daily data, unlimited voice calls, and 100 SMS (short message service) per day limit, all valid for 84 days. The comprehensive package also includes additional perks, such as free access to Netflix's extensive library of feature films, documentaries, anime, and TV shows, as well as unlimited 5G data access (for a faster internet experience), an Apollo 24|7 Circle membership, free Hellotunes, and Wynk Music access.
Note that Netflix offers a Basic plan at Rs 199 per month, which accounts for Rs 2,388 for a year. This plan offers a single-screen viewing, and comes with a video resolution of 720p. Also, the number of downloads will be limited to a single device. The Netflix Basic plan works across smartphones, tablets, computers, and smart TVs. However, Airtel now offers all this free of cost.
- Open the 'Airtel Thanks' app on your smartphone
- Go to the 'Discover Thanks Benefits' section on the top right corner of the screen
- There, you will get to see your Netflix benefit
- Then, you just need to click on the 'Claim' button and follow the instructions to claim the offer
- Upon confirming the activation process, the Netflix subscription will be attached to your mobile number, which shall remain valid for the full 84-duration of the plan. The benefit, according to Airtel's policy, will "continue as long as the customer stays on a Netflix-eligible recharge and as per recharge validity."
Besides Airtel, Reliance Jio offers a prepaid plan of Rs 1,499 with a Netflix subscription. The plan includes Netflix (Basic) for large screens, unlimited 5G data with Jio Welcome Offer, as well as unlimited voice calling and 3 GB/day data. Meanwhile, its prepaid plan of Rs 1,099 gives you access to 2GB/day data, unlimited 5G data with Jio Welcome Offer, and unlimited voice calling. Both plans have a validity of 84 days.
