Two days after its Great Indian Festival concluded, Amazon India has announced that it is holding yet another sale this month. Called the ‘Great Indian Festival - Celebration Special’, the sale will start from October 13 midnight until 11:59 pm on October 17. As usual, Prime members will get exclusive early access, which starts from October 12 noon. The e-commerce platform says that the sale will offer biggest selection and deals by sellers on smartphones, large appliances, TVs, consumer electronics and more with the finance options. Customers can get an instant discount of 10 per cent when they pay with ICICI Debit and Credit Cards. There will be up to 40 per cent off on smartphones and up to 60 per cent off on TVs.
Meanwhile, Amazon said that Great Indian Festival first sale was its biggest celebration ever where it recorded the highest share of transacting customers and purchases across all marketplaces in India. The e-commerce giant said that customers from over 15,000 pin codes joined Prime and Amazon now has Prime members from 94 per cent of pin-codes. It claims that it received orders from 99.4 per cent of India’s pin-codes and over 88 per cent of new customers were from small towns.
On the sellers’ side, nearly 15,000 sellers saw more than double the sales. Amazon saw 15x growth in smartphone purchases led by brands like Samsung, OnePlus, Apple, Xiaomi and Vivo. While one out of three eligible products across categories were purchased using affordability programmes such as exchange, EMIs and bank cash backs, three out of four customers who availed financing options came from Tier 2 and 3 cities. Amazon’s Echo devices see record 70x growth, which is the biggest sale ever for Amazon Devices.
