The upcoming Apple iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models are expected to launch sometime in 2024. However, before this, a leaked image showing two cases has emerged, offering us a look at potential design changes for the upcoming lineup. The image put up by tipster Sonny Dickson on X (formerly Twitter) reveals that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will have a vertical rear camera layout – a departure from the square camera island with rounded edges found on the iPhone 15 series. The new setup comprises individual camera rings for the Wide and Ultra Wide lenses, placed behind a raised, pill-shaped surface.

Besides, the image highlights the contrast in size of the two cases, suggesting that the case on the left side could be for the larger iPhone 16 Plus, whereas the one on the right side could be for the standard iPhone 16. Both cases, which get a vertical rear camera setup, are likely to be offered alongside a function of spatial video recording. The video recording technology, currently reserved for the iPhone 15 Pro models and Vision Pro headset, enables you to record 3D videos, enhancing the user experience. Besides that, one can see a plastic cutout for the LED flash next to the camera island. On top of that, Apple's Action button, a hallmark of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, is also on the cards.

Apple iPhone 16 Pro Colour Options Leaked

According to the previously leaked image, the iPhone 16 Pro could come in four colour options: Gray, Rose, Space Black, and White. While the Grey and White colours seem to be borrowed from the iPhone 15 Pro model, the Space Black and Rose could replace the Black and Blue colour options, respectively.

Apple WDDC 2024

At the 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) that begins on June 10, Apple is expected to make significant announcements about iOS, iPadOS 18, macOS 15, tvOS, watchOS 11, and visionOS 2. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the iOS 18 software update may be the "biggest" in the history of iPhones, making up for limited hardware improvements in the upcoming iPhone 16.
