Apple is predicted to unveil the iPhone 12 series in the second half of 2020. From the little that has been revealed, we assume that there will be four different models with all of them being compatible with the 5G network. However, the iPhone might not have everything you are used to in the box. As per an analyst Ming-chi Kuo, Apple will exclude the earbuds and charger in the iPhone 12 box. Earlier he stated that Apple will not include the wired earbuds with the iPhone 12, and now the analyst says that the power adapter will also be sold separately.
Kuo has further mentioned that Apple intends to keep the selling price of the iPhone 12 similar to that of the iPhone 11. Hence, removing the charger and the earbuds from the box will cancel out the cost of the 5G networking components. By the same token, the phone’s packaging will reduce considerably, which will in turn reduce the freight cost for Apple. The smaller packaging will also be eco-friendly.
Currently, Apple includes EarPods, 5W USB-A adapter with the iPhone 11, and iPhone SE (2nd generation), while the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max come with the 18W USB-C adapter. The 18W USB-C charger came after years of complaining about the slow 5W USB-A adapter. It will be a surprise to see the fast in-box charger disappear so soon.
