Dell and Alienware have launched a string of products at the ongoing 2020. The line-up includes a redesigned Dell G5 15 SE (Special Edition) laptop for price-conscious gamers, a new software to help monitor in-game performance and Alienware 25-inch gaming monitor.
This is the first Dell G Series laptop to feature 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen 4000 H-Series Mobile Processors (up to 8-cores, 16-threads), paired with the AMD Radeon RX 5600M GPUs. These two AMD chips use AMD SmartShift technology to optimise performance by automatically and intelligently shifting power between the Ryzen processor and Radeon GPU as required by the game.
There is a ‘Game Shift’ macro key, which allows one key quick launch of game-ready settings for reduced latency, and sharpened images. As expected, the machine comes with the Alienware Command Center that allows gamers to control hub for controlling in-game and peripheral lighting settings, integrating nahimic 3D audio to provide a 360 degree sound experience with Audio Recon overlay.
As far as design is concerned, the redesigned G5 15 SE features a ‘fighter plane’ look with iridescent silver finish and metallic accents. It sports a 15.6-inch FHD display panel with an optional 144Hz refresh rate, optional 4-zone RGB keyboard with WASD and optional 68WHr battery. The Dell G5 15 SE will be available in mid-April at a starting price of $799.99.
The Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor comes with 240Hz refresh rate, coupled with fast IPS technology that allows for true 1ms gray-to-gray response time. It has AMD FreeSync Premium technology and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatibility so that there is no screen tearing or blurring while gaming. The Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor is the ‘Official Display for (esports players from) Team Liquid’ and the official competition monitor for the League of Legends global events. The monitor starts at $499.99 and will be available starting March 11.
The Alienware Second Screen is a concept software that allows gamers to view their PC performance stats on their phone. Leveraging the Dell Mobile Connect technology, Alienware Second Screen synchronises with Alienware Command Center to present CPU, GPU and RAM diagnostics in real-time on a gamer’s connected phone.
