Pablo Escobar’s biological brother, Roberto De Jesus Escobar Gaviria, has launched ‘Escobar Fold 1’ foldable smartphone that features a flexible display. The device will be available in two variants. The 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage variant will cost users $349 (approx Rs 25,000), and 8GB RAM and 512GB storage variant can be purchased for $499 (approx Rs 32,000).

Here are seven things to know about the phone:

  1. The Escobar Fold 1 smartphone was designed in the US and is being manufactured in Hong Kong. Initially, 100,000 phones will be manufactured.
  2. The phone has an out-folding design, which is seen on the Huawei Mate X. It sports two 7.8-inch AMOLED FHD+ panels and is claimed to be ‘unbreakable’.
  3. Under the hood, the device has a Snapdragon 8-series chip clocked at 2.8GHz, it runs Android 9.0.
  4. The dual-SIM smartphone can be ordered from anywhere, has free shipping, and is unlocked to work on ‘all networks in the US and Worldwide.’
  5. The brother of the infamous Colombian drug lord says that the phone is affordable because he ‘cut the networks and retailers’ and aims to ‘beat Apple, which is scamming customers.’
  6. It features two 16MP and 20MP cameras, and a fingerprint sensor.
  7. Roberto Escobar plans to file a $30 billion class-action lawsuit against Apple on January 6, 2020 for being ‘scammers’ and ‘cheating the people and selling worthless phones’.

According to dailymail, Roberto Escobar is the former accountant and co-founder of the Medellin Cartel. His drug kingpin brother led the Medellin Cartel in Columbia and was killed by a gunshot during a police standoff in 1993. Roberto walked away from the family business to start a different life. Currently, one of Pablo Escobar’s former assassins who were part of the Medellin Cartel, John Jairo Velasquez Vasquez, has also become YouTube personality. Known by the alias ‘Popeye’, Vasquez surrendered to the Colombian justice system in 1992.
