‘Face Unlock’ arrives on Honor View 10

Huawei’s e-brand Honor today announced “Face Unlock” feature for its recently launched Honor View 10 smartphone. If not yet received, the feature will be rolled out to everyone by January 24, the company added.

To enable face recognition, you need to first set up you Face in phone settings menu. The Intelligent face recognition by AI technology helps you in ways such as unlocking notifications, the screen will be turned off if you are no longer reading.

The AI-powered Honor View 10 is priced at Rs 29,999 and comes with a powerful Kirin 970 chipsets which include a Neural-Network Processing Unit (NPU) is at its core. The NPU powers a series of new AI applications which recognise different scenes when taking photos, translates different languages in real-time even without an Internet connection and understand user’s behaviours and optimises the phone’s performance.

The new Kirin 970 features an octa-core ARM Cortex CPU and a first-to-market Mali-G72 12-core GPU. Honor View 10 comes with 6GB RAM, 128GB memory and runs on EMUI 8.0. The smartphone also has a special Gaming Suite which significantly increases the performance of mobile games. Further, a 3,750mAh battery with fast charging capabilities fuels the device. The Honor View 10 is equipped with a high-definition 16MP + 20MP dual-lens camera with f/1.8 wide aperture and 2-in-1 phase detection auto-focus.
