Planning a trip involves varied tasks such as searching for flights and hotels, and the process often becomes cumbersome when we use multiple tools to collate everything we need – especially on a mobile phone. Earlier this year, Google redesigned hotel search experience, so you can more easily explore and filter information concerning hotels on your mobile device. And now, the search engine giant has announced to bring the same functionality of hotel search on desktop.

Now, when you search for hotels in Honolulu, for example, you can browse hotel results easily with photos from the hotel or fellow travellers, hotel information, such as neighbourhood and location, hotel reviews from around the web, which can be searched by keywords like 'air conditioning', hotel results on Google and browse hotel results on Google.

The hotel search experience includes better price filtering, easier-to-find amenity information and the ability to book right from Google. Consumers can also click to the 'Flights' tab to check prices and fare options and easily book flights.

'This new hotel experience will be rolled out globally. We hope this makes planning your holidays and 2019 travels just a little bit easier,' Google said in a blog post.

In December of 2017, Google updated its Search with new features including featured snippets, improved functionality of knowledge panels and suggested content. All these features allow users to widen their search outside of the information they originally intended to search.

Featured Snippets that are algorithmically generated snapshots of what's available on the web will now include images and related searches inside select Featured Snippets to help you provide quick, relevant answers for your queries and to discover new things related to your interest.
