HP launches powerful gaming laptop OMEN X

HP Inc. today launched a powerful gaming laptop OMEN X -- built for gaming enthusiasts and e-sports athletes. HP OMEN X comes with Intel 7th gen Core i7 CPU and factory-overclocked graphics cards up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 – making it ideal for fast-paced or multi-player games running at 4K resolutions.

With the OMEN ‘Command Centre” software users can custom tune CPU and RAM overclocking; move gaming network traffic with a network booster to reduce latency in online games; and, customise system lighting to streamline gaming controls

The laptop comes with an integrated vapor chamber with four 3.5 mm heat pipes to improve heat transfer from the GPU and CPU to the four-rear corner-mounted radiators. The laptop has RAID0 SSD option for ultra-fast boot and game loading, PCIe SSD+HDD storage options for quick responsiveness and massive storage capacity, or standalone 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD options.

HP has also optimised the OMEN X to be VR ready on all configurations and includes features that enhance gameplay and limit outside distractions for full immersion.

The laptop features 17-inch 4K display with 120Hz refresh rate comes with NVIDIA G-Sync for reduced image tearing and packs dual speakers with Bang & Olufsen audio.

Other connectivity options include: three USB 3.0 Type A, two Thunderbolt certified USB 3.1 Type C, HDMI 2.0a with HDR support, Mini DisplayPort, RJ45 and a multi-format media card reader. The device also can also be connected to four external displays to a different range gaming accessories.

The HP OMEN X laptop is expected to be available in November at HP.com, starting at $2,299.
