Chinese social media site Weibo has leaked images of Huawei’s next flagship smartphone Mate 10 which reveals the device to be bezel less cladded in a uni-body metal design and also shows off a dual-camera setup with Leica lens.
Huawei is expected to launch the Mate 10 at an event in Europe in October at a cost over $1000 ( or approx Rs 64,000). As of now we do not know as to how true these rumours are until some more information of the device is available officially. However, Richard Yu, Huawei’s product head of consumer divison, earlier confirmed that the Mate 10 will gate-crash with the Apple’s iPhone 8, which is slated to be launched in September.
If the price comes out to be accurate, then Mate 10 will cost as much as iPhone 8, which industry analysts have predicted to break the $1000 price barrier.
Yu said that the Mate 10 will have an improved camera and battery life over its predecessor Mate 9.
The device is rumoured to be armed with Kirin 970 processor paired up with 6GB RAM and will come with 64GB internal storage. A 4,000mAh battery will power the Mate 10 which will run on Android Nougat.
Huawei Mate 10 could sport 6.1-inch Quad-HD screen.
In July, Huawei bypassed Apple and Samsung to become top smartphone player in China, market research firm Counterpoint Research has said. Huawei’s nova, enjoy series along with flagship P10 were in strong demand in the second quarter of 2017.
