Chinese tech giant Huawei has announced the next smartphones in its camera centric ‘P’ series – P30 and P30 Pro. Both of these smartphones are powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC consisting of two sets of two Cortex-A76 cores, and four Cortex-A55 cores. There is a 32MP selfie camera and a small notch which Huawei calls ‘ultra-small notch’
Huawei P30 and P30 Pro sports three cameras on the rear comprising of a primary camera, a wide-angle camera, and a telephoto camera. The smartphones run in EMUI 9.1 based on Android Pie. Both the smartphones are available in Black, Pearl White, Aurora, Amber Sunrise, Breathing Crystal colours.
Huawei P30 Pro
The new P30 and P30 Pro are camera centric phones of which, the P30 Pro has the most advanced camera setup. There is a 40MP primary camera with ‘SuperSensing Sensor’, a secondary camera include an 8MP 10x “hybrid” zoom sensor and a 20MP ultra-wide angle lens. According to Huawei, the zoom lens combines optical zoom with digital zoom to get up to 10x. Then there is a 3D ToF sensor to further enhance the portrait mode capabilities.
Thanks to the RGYB sensor, the P30 Pro has improved low-light photography letting in up to 40 per cent more light. The camera is also equipped with ‘super high’ ISO allowing you to click images in extremely dark situations. Consumers can use the zoom lens and primary camera at the same time to do a split-screen video.
The P30 Pro packs a 6.47-inches OLED display with HDR10 and has slim bezels around the display. The smartphone has 8GB of RAM and is available in two storage options -- 256 and 512GB. The device is fuelled by a 4,200mAh battery.
The Huawei P30 also packs a powerful camera and has the same low-light photography features. Along with 40MP primary camera, there is a 16MP ultra-wide angle lens and an 8MP telephoto with only 5x “hybrid” zoom (3x optical zoom). There is no 3D ToF camera in P30.
The P30 has a 6.1-inch OLED display with HDR10. It has 6GB of RAM and is only available in 128GB storage. The battery is also smaller (3,650mAh) as compared to P30 Pro Since the device is smaller,
