The iBall CompBook i360 is a laptop and a tablet rolled into one and comes at a steal away price. But does it deliver as promised?

While touchscreen devices are now the default choice of consumers across the world, there’s still a good chunk of people who prefer running their fingers over the thick plastic keys of a laptop. Now if money is not a problem, you can of course buy each of the two devices – one for your professional work and one for your leisure. But if you’re on a tight budget, fret not. For iBall has got an all-new device, the CompBook i360, that has the best of both worlds clubbed into one device. And, best of all, it comes at a killer price.

When I first laid hands on the CompBook i360, I was a bit skeptical about it – mainly because it’s priced a little too low and promises a lot in return. Its specifications, for instance, are impressive to start with. The device runs Windows 10 and comes with 1.84GHz Intel quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM. The internal storage is only 32GB but it can be extended till 64GB via a microSD card. It comes with 10,000mAh battery along with a HDMI port and 2 USB ports (1 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 2.0).

iBall Compbook Review

The CompBook features a crisp 11.6-inch HD screen that comes with multi-touch display. The screen produces sharp images and the video playback quality is really impressive. Even when you play full HD videos, there’s no lag or image distortion of any sort, which I thought was quite impressive. If I had to nitpick, the sound quality of the dual-speakers is somewhat average in comparison. Also, the screen is shiny, meaning you end up seeing the reflection of your face more often than required.

However, the party piece of the CompBook is that it can be converted into four different configurations: Laptop, Tablet, Stand Mode and Tent Mode. Which is done quite effortlessly, I have to say. In Laptop mode, it runs like a, well, normal laptop – although I did feel the touchpad to be a bit iffy. You can convert it to a tablet by simply flipping the screen around. It’s really a handy device that way, albeit a bit heavy to lug around thanks to the additional weight.

Overall, the iBall CompBook i360 has a lot going for it. Not only does it perform better than an average notebook, but it’s also priced right on the money. For someone looking for a compact, affordable and decent laptop/tablet, the CompBook i360 ticks all the boxes, and quite convincingly at that.
