LG Velvet unveiled with a Triple rear camera setup, Wireless charging, 5G Support, and more

LG Velvet, priced at KRW 899,800 (₹ 55,700 approx.) has been launched in South Korea. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G mid-range processor and offers stylus support.

LG seems to have upped its smartphone game with the Velvet smartphone. For starters, the smartphone features a completely new design. It measures 167.2x74.1x7.9 mm and weighs 180 grams. It is curved on both sides and is available in four colours: ‘aurora grey’, ‘aurora white’ ‘aurora green’, and ‘illusion sunset’. The phone has a 6.8-inch OLED display with 2460 x 1080 resolution and a 20.5:9 aspect ratio along with a small waterdrop central notch.

LG Velvet is powered by the Snapdragon 765G with an in-built 5G support. The device offers 8 GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It houses a triple rear camera setup, which includes a 48-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 lens, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor with an f/1.9 lens. It runs on Android 10 out-of-the-box with a custom ROM.

The connectivity options for LG Velvet include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.1, 4G LTE, 5G, and GPS/A-GPS. The device has an in-display fingerprint sensor and supports accessories like LG Dual Screen cover and the Wacom Stylus Pen. The Velvet comes powered by a 4,300mAh battery, which supports wired fast charging via a USB Type-C port along with wireless charging. The Velvet also gets a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack.

The LG Velvet will be available for sale in South Korea at KRW 899,800 (₹ 55,700 approx.) from 15 May 2020, with pre-orders starting from 7 May 2020. There is, however, no information on the global release of the device.
