Domestic smartphone manufacturer Micromax is set to launch its first bezel-less smartphone ‘Canvas Infinity’ in the country today.
Last week, the company sent out invites for the launch of the Micromax Canvas Infinity. The invite reads, "Let's put a number to Infinity. 22.09.2017. Block your date." The device is expected to be priced between Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000
The company will also be live streaming the event. The device is expected to come with zero bezel display, similar to Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Other details of the device are yet not announced.
A day before the launch, Micromax’s Co-Founder Rahul Sharma presented Shikhar Dhawan with the Canvas Infinity smartphone at the Micromax Cup India vs Sri Lanka 2017 ODI, where he was awarded man of the match.
In July, Micromax launched a new selfie-focussed smartphone 'Selfie 2' that come with 8MP front camera and is priced at Rs 9,999. The smartphone comes with 13MP rear camera with 'Sonyu' sensors coupled with a front flash.
The device is powered by MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor paired up with 3GB of RAM and has 32GB internal memory. Selfie 2 runs on the latest Android Nougat 7.0 operating system and houses 3,000mAh battery which the company claims offers a standby time of nearly 250 hours.
Selfie 2 sports 5.2-inch HD display and comes in an all-metal body design and features 'Gallery 4.0' that utilises facial and image recognition technologies to search for photos in the gallery by identifying a person's face.
