Motorola has expanded its Android One smartphone line-up in India by launching the Motorola One Macro at a price of Rs 9,999. The phone is the third camera-centric device in the series, with the other two being the Motorola One Action and Motorola One Vision. The handset has a triple rear camera setup with a dedicated lens for marco photography, that is, capture extreme close up shots. There is a depth sensor as well.
The Motorola One Macro is launched in India first, and it will be available on Flipkart from October 12 at a price of Rs 9,999. Motorola has offered the phone in only one variant, that is, with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage, and in a lone Space Blue colour.
The Motorola One Macro features a 6.2-inch LCD panel that offers a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The handset is powered by a MediaTek Helio P70 chipset, which is coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It runs Android 9 Pie and is promised to get the Android 10 update and security patches for two years. The phone draws power from a 4,000mAh battery, and it sports a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The camera is the USP of the device. The phone is equipped with a 13MP primary sensor with f/2.0 lens. It can record 1080p videos at 60fps (and slow-mo videos at 120fps). There is a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots, and another 2MP macro lens. The Lenovo-owned company claims that macro camera can focus from as close as 2cm. The phone comes equipped with an 8MP selfie camera (f/2.2 lens), which is housed inside a waterdrop notch.
