WhatsApp is reportedly working on a Business-focused messenger that will work on landline number to make it easier for customers and companies to communicate. When the final version of WhatsApp Business will be rolled out messages and calls from customers will reach the landline number, but Business account users will be able to access them on their mobile.
WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business will be two separate entities, the business version of the app has a slightly different logo too. The business logo carries the same design as the WhatsApp logo, but the Business badge features a B rather than a phone icon.
The company is building and testing new tools via a free WhatsApp Business app for small companies and an enterprise solution for bigger companies operating at a large scale with a global base of customers, like airlines, e-commerce sites, and banks. These businesses will be able to use our solutions to provide customers with useful notifications like flight times, delivery confirmations, and other updates.
Over one billion people use WhatsApp every day to stay connected with their family and friends, and over time, more people are using the app to communicate with businesses they care about too. WhatsApp now wants to facilitate “someone placing an order with a local bakery or looking at new styles from a clothing store” or “shopkeepers who use WhatsApp to stay in touch with hundreds of customers from a single smartphone.”
WhatsApp Business is actually quite similar to normal WhatsApp, but has two additional sections in the Setting’s menu: Statistics and Business Settings.
The instant messaging platform has over 1.3 billion monthly active users who transfer 55 billion messages and one billion videos every day.
