Nokia 7.2 with 48MP triple camera, PureDisplay tech launched starting at Rs 18,500 in India

HMD Global has launched Nokia 7.2 with a 48MP camera, which comes equipped with ZEISS Optics, and PureDisplay in India. Starting at a price of Rs 18,499, the phone will be available from September 23 ....

After launching it for the European market, HMD Global has unveiled the Nokia 7.2 in India. The phone sports a 48MP triple rear camera setup with ZEISS Optics and AI-powered features such as night mode. The handset’s camera uses Quad Pixel technology, which essentially combines four pixels into one to create well-lit images. The phone features a PureDisplay technology and always-on HDR panel.

Nokia 7.2 price, availability and offers

The Nokia 7.2 comes in Charcoal and Cyan Green and will be available from September 23 at top mobile retail outlets in India, on Nokia.com/phones and Flipkart at a starting price of Rs 18,599 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant and Rs 19,599 for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant.

Offline offers: Consumers who purchase Nokia 7.2 using HDFC Bank Credit and Debit cards on EMI, and regular transactions done through Pinelabs terminals in retail stores, will receive a 10 per cent cashback. Consumers can also avail 10 per cent cashback when they use HDFC consumer finance in retail stores. This offer is available at retail outlets till October 31. Jio subscribers will get benefits worth Rs 7,200 on Rs 198 and 299 plans. This includes Rs 2,200 cashback from Jio; Rs 3,000 vouchers from Cleartrip and Rs 2,000 off on Zoomcar.

Online offers: Consumers purchasing Nokia 7.2 on Nokia.com/phones will receive Rs 2,000 gift card and those who purchase the handset from Flipkart will receive extra Rs 2,000 off on exchange. Both these offers are applicable till October 31. The ones who grab Nokia 7.2 from Flipkart using HDFC Bank Debit Cards will receive a 5 per cent cashback till September 28 and those using ICICI Bank credit cards and Axis Bank credit and debit cards during The Big Billion Days Festival will receive a 10 per cent instant discount. The sale will begin September 29 till October 4.

Nokia 7.2 specifications

A successor to the Nokia 7.1, the Nokia 7.2 gets Gorilla Glass protection on the front as well as on the back. It features a 6.3-inch Full HD+ panel with a waterdrop notch, and the display comes with a HDR10 support. Nokia says that the display features PureDisplay technology. With a dedicated Pixelworks visual processor, the Nokia 7.2 upscales video content to HDR quality in real time, which essentially means that users get more contrast and deeper colours while watching videos on the smartphone. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s mid-range chip Snapdragon 660 mobile platform.

Coming to the optics, the Nokia 7.2 comes equipped with a triple rear camera setup that features a 48MP primary sensor paired with an f/1.79 aperture lens. There is an ultra-wide 8MP ultra-wide camera that has a 118-degree field of view and a 5MP depth sensor. On the front is a 20MP sensor. Both the camera setups have ZEISS Optics. Nokia has introduced three ZEISS bokeh styles: ZEISS Modern, ZEISS Swirl and ZEISS Smooth modes. The handset is backed by a 3500mAh battery and Nokia promises two-day run time on a single charge.

The phone runs on Android 9 Pie and it is an Android Q-ready handset. As part of the Android One partnership, Nokia 7.2 will receive guaranteed monthly security updates for three years and OS updates for two years. In addition, Nokia 7.2 users will receive a three-month membership trial to Google One at no extra cost. With Google One membership, subscribers will get 100GB of cloud storage across Google Drive, Gmail and Google Photos. The Nokia 7.2 also comes with a dedicated Google Assistant Button, Ambient Mode that which provides an always-on-display when your device is charging.
