Just like you request music on Alexa regularly, you can now use artist names, songs, playlists or genres for your alarm. ....

Music alarms on Alexa-powered Amazon Echo are now available in India, enabling users to choose their favourite music to wake up to. Alexa can set music alarms to play songs from Amazon Prime Music, Saavn and radio stations with TuneIn

Just like you request music on Alexa regularly, you can now use artist names, songs, playlists or genres for your alarm.

Try saying:

“Alexa, set an alarm for 7am to play Lata Mangeshkar”

“Alexa, set an alarm for 7am to Radio Mirchi”

“Alexa, set an alarm for 6am to nature sounds

“Alexa, wake me up at 7am to Swag Se Swagat from Saavn”

“Alexa, wake me up at 6am to music everyday”

“Alexa, wake me up to Fresh Hindi playlist at 6am”

“Alexa, wake me up at 6am to Suprabhatam”

“Alexa, wake me up to my classical music station on Saavn tomorrow at 6am”

“Alexa, wake me up to bhajans tomorrow at 8am”

To manage alarms, you can say:

“Alexa, stop”

“Alexa, snooze”

“Alexa, stop playing this in 20 minutes”

“Alexa, cancel my Suprabatham alarm”

“Alexa, cancel my 6am alarm”

“Alexa, cancel all alarms”

Each Alexa device uses timers and alarms independent of other Alexa devices registered on your Amazon account. Once you set up an alarm using your voice, you can also manage them in the Alexa app. Alarms can be for up to 24 hours ahead.

Even if your device is muted or not connected to Wi-Fi, your alarms still go off, the company said. And since, music is streamed and relies on internet connectivity, if your Echo device is offline, Alexa will still wake you up on time using a default alarm tone

The Alexa app can manage up to 100 timers and alarms. It’s important to note that “Do Not Disturb” doesn't block timers and alarms.

Amazon Alexa already has over 12,000 skills for Indian users. Amazon says that the Alexa service is always getting smarter, be it features and skills, or natural language understanding and accuracy. Because Alexa’s brains are in the AWS cloud, she continually learns and adds more functionality, every hour, every day.

To find a skill and enable, go to the skills section in the Alexa app browse for skills and then click enable. If you know the skill name, then you can just ask Alexa to enable the skill. To enable Ola, just say “Alexa, enable Ola.” The Alexa companion app can be downloaded from Google Play and Apple App Store.
