OnePlus may launch new phones called the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro in the second quarter of 2020, Twitter tipster Max J has claimed. The news follows a recent development in which high-quality renderings of the alleged phones were leaked. While there isn’t much surprising about this development, as it falls in line with the usual launch timeline of OnePlus phones, but it is always good to know. The OnePlus smartphones are launched after Samsung launches its premium S-Series devices at MWC Barcelona.
As mentioned, renderings of both phones have been leaked by famous tipster OnLeaks. The renders show that instead of the pop-up selfie camera like the one on the OnePlus 7 Pro, and waterdrop notch in case of the OnePlus 7, the next models will get punch-hole displays. The screen on both phones will be curved, and they could sport OLED panels with a 90Hz refresh rate. Further, the handsets are said to have an under-display fingerprint sensor. As per the rumours making rounds on the internet, the Pro model is expected to sport a 6.65-inch AMOLED panel with 90Hz refresh rate.

If the renderings are to be believed, the OnePlus 8 will sport a triple-camera setup at the rear, and the Pro variant is likely to ship with a quad-camera module at the rear. If true, the OnePlus 8 Pro will become the first OnePlus device to sport four cameras on the back, and it will join Samsung and Huawei that have already unveiled phones with four cameras on the back. The three centrally-aligned cameras on the rear could have a 64MP primary sensor, with a 3D ToF sensor placed on the left. The LED flash module is placed below the three cameras, followed by the company’s logo. The specifications of the OnePlus 8 are still not known.
