After showcasing its first concept phone earlier this year – the OnePlus Concept One made in collaboration with McLaren – OnePlus has gone ahead and introduced a new OnePlus 8T concept phone with electrochromic glass at the back.
Instead of just using the electrochromic glass for the rear camera section, which was the case with the above-mentioned OnePlus Concept One, this time around, with the OnePlus 8T concept, the company has made use of electrochromic glass for the entire rear panel.
According to the manufacturer, “OnePlus team is building further on our first concept technology to unlock even more potential benefit for future smartphone users”. OnePlus has also used a color-changing film at the back that contains a metal oxide, which means the pattern changes at the back from a dark blue shade to light silver when the metal oxide activates.
Moreover, as you can see in the picture, the updated rectangular camera system on the rear now includes a mmWave radar module. The received signals are processed by the CPU and DSP, which enables the OnePlus 8T concept phone to “perceive, image, locate, and track objects.”
