The OnePlus 9 series is expected to arrive as early as the first quarter of next year. We're expecting OnePlus to reveal three new phones, all of which, according to a leak from China, will feature a periscope zoom lens.
This is the second time we've heard about this, as the first CAD-based renders of the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro appeared back in November showing off the camera design of the smartphones. According to those, the phones are expected to feature a rectangular cutout for the camera, housing two prominent lenses and two smaller ones along with an LED flash.
Regardless, we're still unaware why OnePlus has chosen to stick with the older telephoto lens instead of using a periscopic lens, which we've seen previously on Oppo and Realme smartphones. Other manufacturers like Samsung, Huawei, and Xiaomi have also implemented this solution for their smartphones.
