OnePlus has announced that it will roll out an update for the OnePlus TV, which will bring popular content players Spotify, JioSaavn, Voot, ShemarooMe, alt Balaji, and MX Player to the television. Additionally, the OTA update will also enable users to connect their earphones with a TV via Bluetooth.

‘We at OnePlus strive to take the home environment to the next level of intelligent connectivity. The new update brings a lot of viewing and listening content to the OnePlus TV. Our approach has always been a community-first approach, and we are happy to bring premium content partners on to the OnePlus TV,’ Vikas Agarwal, General Manager, OnePlus India, said in a statement.

The apps will come pre-installed in new TVs, and those who already have bought the OnePlus TV 55 Q1 and/or OnePlus TV 55 Q1 Pro will get the OTA update soon. The new update will deliver optimisations in three key areas:

  • OxygenPlay: New Content Integration with MX Player, Voot, ShemarooMe, Alt Balaji, Spotify, and JioSaavn.
  • Bluetooth Stereo: New playback animation while playing music through Bluetooth stereo.
  • OnePlus Connect: With this feature, OnePlus smartphone can share Hotspot to the OnePlus TV. OnePlus Connect supports up to five devices simultaneously.
  • PQ optimisation: With this refinement, OnePlus TV will get streamlined PQ mode options and colour gamut conversion.
  • Local Player: This brings both embedded and external subtitle support while playing local videos.
  • System: When it comes to system-level enhancements, users can now use the Prime Video button on the remote to power on/off the TV.

The OnePlus TVs already have apps like Netflix, Hungama, Eros, and Zee5 with deep-integration into the OnePlus Play dashboard. Other content partners include Amazon Prime Video, Hotstar, SonyLiv, and YouTube. The OnePlus TV starts at Rs 69,900 and is currently available for purchase at Amazon.in and across 100+ offline outlets of Reliance Digital across the top 12 cities in India. With the addition of new content partners, users will also receive a 3-month subscription to JioSaavn.
