Oppo Realme 2 with 6.2-inch display, 4230mAh battery launched in India

Realme 2 sports notch 6.2-inches screen with 88.8 per cent body ratio which is also one of the highest in this price segment.

Oppo’s sub-brand Realme has announced “Made in India” Realme 2 smartphone in the sub-10k segment. Available exclusively on Flipkart, Realme 2 becomes the first to offer a notch full screen in the sub-10k price segment.

Realme 2 will be available in Diamond Black, Diamond Red and Diamond Blue colours in two versions -- 3GB RAM+32GB ROM priced at Rs 8,990 and 4GB RAM+64GB ROM priced at Rs 10,990. The first sale for the Diamond Black and Diamond Red versions will commence from September 4, 12 p.m onwards. The Diamond Blue variant will be available in early October.

“Being a young smartphone brand in the most diverse and thriving market in the world, we have witnessed unprecedented love and demand since launching Realme 1. In just 30 days in Q2, we gained four per cent online market share and were ranked fourth in the fastest growing online smartphone market,” said Madhav Sheth, Chief Executive Officer, Realme India.  

Realme is also offering a new “Callme" Service, through which the service staff will reach at their doorsteps or preferred locations to collect the devices for repairing. Customers can also courier the devices to registered service centres free of cost. Meanwhile, Realme customers will also have access to almost 500 Oppo service centres across India.

The notch screen brings with it many user-friendly features like several short-cuts on the notch area to apps such as WhatsApp, SMS and others, without exiting your game or video when you play or watch in the full landscape mode. The notch area short-cuts also support screen recording and screenshots.

The budget- friendly Realme 2 is packed with an octa-core Snapdragon 450 processor, with the Adreno 506 GPU. Both the versions (3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB) support triple-slot, so you can use dual 4G SIM cards, and one SD card which is expandable to 256GB.

There is a 13MP main camera and a 2MP secondary camera at the back and an 8MP selfie camera.  The Realme 2 runs on ColorOS 5.1 on top of Android Oreo.
