The MediaTek Dimensity SoC-equipped Oppo Reno 12 and Oppo Reno 12 Pro were unveiled in China last month. The smartphone maker has now disclosed the launch date of the Reno 12 series for the international markets. There have been hints that these phones would offer AI LinkBoost and AI Portrait, two generative AI (GenAI) technologies. The 50-megapixel triple back and 50-megapixel front cameras of the Oppo Reno 12 are exclusive to China. They come with an IP65-rated layout and ColorOS 14, based on Android 14.
Oppo announced the launch date of the Reno 12 series for international markets via a teaser video on YouTube. The launch event is scheduled for June 18 in Ibiza, Spain. The upcoming smartphones are expected to include generative AI technologies such as AI Portrait and AI LinkBoost. They are currently available for pre-order in Malaysia.
The Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro were rolled out in China last month, with prices starting at CNY 2,699 (approximately Rs 31,000) and CNY 3,399 (about Rs 39,000), respectively. There may be some internal improvements in the upcoming global variants.

In China, the Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro are powered by ColorOS 14, an Android 14-based operating system, and have 6.7-inch full-HD+ 1.5K curved OLED panels with a refresh rate of 120Hz and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The Pro model has a MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition chipset, while the vanilla variant is powered by a 4nm octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8250 Star Speed Edition SoC. They include up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage in addition to up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM.
Together with 50-megapixel telephoto cameras and 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooters, the Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro also include 50-megapixel main sensors. The primary sensor on the vanilla model is a Sony LYT-600, while the main sensor in the Reno 12 Pro is a Sony IMX890. There are 50-megapixel front cameras on both phones. The 5,000mAh batteries of both Oppo Reno 12 models allow for 80W SuperVOOC rapid charging. They have in-display fingerprint scanners and are IP65-rated for durability to dust and splashes.
