Chinese tech giant Oppo has launched the successor to its Reno2 lineup – the Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro – in China. Both the smartphones sport quad-rear camera setup and support dual-mode 5G. In fact, Oppo Reno 3 is the first phone to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000L 5G chipset. Although there is no word on the India availability of these phones, it’s likely that the phones will debut in India in the coming months, considering the company’s track record.
The 8GB + 128GB variant of the Oppo Reno 3 Pro is priced at CNY 3,999 (approx. Rs 40,000), while the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model is priced at CNY 4,499 (approx. Rs 45,000). It will be made available in Misty White, Moon Night Black, Sunrise Impression, and Blue Starry Night colours. Meanwhile, the Oppo Reno 3 will be available at a starting price of CNY 3,399 (approx. Rs 34,000) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model, and the 12GB RAM RAM + 128GB storage variant will cost CNY 3,699 (approx. Rs 36,999).
The Oppo Reno 3 Pro features a 6.5-inch full-HD+ curved AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The company claims that the display has 402ppi pixel density, a 5000000: 1 contrast ratio, a 93.4 per cent screen-to-body ratio, a 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution, and HDR10+ support. Under the hood, the Oppo Reno 3 Pro incorporates the recently-launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset. It runs ColorOS 7 skin baked on top of Android 10.
In terms of optics, the smartphone sports a quad rear camera setup with a 48MP primary Sony IMX586 sensor. The lens has an f/1.7 aperture, OIS, and EIS. There is an 8MP sensor with an ultra-wide lens (116-degrees field of view) and a 13MP telephoto lens with EIS and 5x hybrid zoom support. The fourth 2MP monochrome camera has an f/2.4 aperture lens. On the front lies a 32MP selfie shooter housed inside a punch hole. The handset houses a 4025mAh battery that supports VOOC Flash Charge 4.0.
Oppo Reno 3 features a marginally smaller 6.4-inch TUV Rheinland-certified display with a waterdrop notch. The phone is powered by the same octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1000L 5G SoC manufactured by 7nm fabrication process. The phone has a 64MP quad rear camera setup with an 8MP wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP mono sensor. On the front is a 32MP selfie shooter. It packs a 4025mAh battery with VOOC 4.0 fast charging support.
