Almost after a month of its official announcement, Panasonic has debuted its brand-new Lumix S5 Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera in the Indian market. The Lumix S5, as per the company, should deliver a wide dynamic range and high sensitivity performance, courtesy of sufficient light condensation.
The Lumix S5 is built around a die-cast magnesium alloy and is both water and dust resistant. Moreover, it packs a 24.2MP 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor with Dual Native ISO technology, which helps in reducing noise in videos and photos. It also features advanced deep-learning technology, which allows for high-speed, high-precision AF for photos and videos via real-time detection of the subject’s eye, face, head, and body. There's also a separate mode dial for slow and quick motion, allowing the user to capture time-lapse and slow-motion videos.
The camera also features a 3-inch, fully articulating rear LCD touchscreen. Internally, it can shoot up to 4K 60fps 4:2:0 10 bit video and 4K 30fps 4:2:2 10-bit video. However, over an HDMI-out, it can capture 4K 60fps 4:2:2 10-bit footage. The camera also comes with an integrated 5-axis Body IS (Image Stabilizer), which, as per Panasonic, help shoot steady pictures and videos, especially in low-light conditions or with telephoto lenses.
Other capabilities of the Lumix S5 include a Live View Composite function, enabling the user to capture perfectly-exposed shots of fireworks or stars at night. It also gets support for dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and 2x SD card slots with one of them also featuring UHS-II support.
Lastly, the Panasonic Lumix S5 price in India is set at ₹1,64,900 (body only). You can also grab the Lumix S5 along with a new 20-60mm F3.5-5.6 L-mount zoom lens (S-R2060) at ₹1,89,900. It is now available at Panasonic brand shops and Panasonic 4K Imaging School.
