With an aim to provide technology like ‘Tap Water -- easily available and affordable’, Panasonic has launched its AI-powered connected living platform Miraie in India. ‘Mirai’ means ‘future’ and ‘ie’ meaning ‘home’ in Japanese. The company says that Miraie meets the evolving needs of consumers to connect and interact with all Panasonic smart devices. Panasonic says that the innovation has been conceptualised and developed at Panasonic’s India Innovation Centre based out of Bangalore.
Panasonic not only launched connected air conditioner, smart doorbell and smart plugs & switches under the IoT platform but also introduced a range of products to be launched shortly. It will soon launch a refrigerator, washing machine, television, fans, geysers, etc to complete the portfolio of Connected Living Solutions.
‘Consumers are now looking towards IoT & AI enabled solutions to enhance quality of life through connected ecosystems – as per our research over 75 per cent are looking for specific requirements related to ease of use; safety; monitoring misuse; service reminders; personalise usage pattern. Through the launch of our Miraie platform, we aim to address all of the above and extend connected living in a true sense,’ Manish Sharma, President & CEO, Panasonic India and South East Asia, said.
The smart devices can be connected with an app, which offers in-built intelligent diagnostics that detects issues in advance which in turn maximises performance and operational lifespan of products. The AI platform in Miraie also recognises usage patterns and suggests optimal modes to users. For example, the Connected AC and fan has a feature called the customised sleep mode. This mode enables enhanced flexibility as it allows users to pre-set temperatures profiles through the night for comfort.
Apart from the ability to set AC on/off remotely, the platform also sends alerts on the customers’ mobile. The solution also leverages Google’s Voice Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa technology for hands-free operations. The Miraie App also offers e-warranty wherein all warranty services and annual maintenance contracts are stored digitally for all products. The consumers get notified if there is change in any status. Consumers can also request change of spare parts of electronic devices with an online request via the app.
