Ahead of its launch, Xiaomi today an 'Alpha Sale' for the upcoming Redmi K20 series of smartphones. The ‘Alpha Sale’ would be a first-of-its-kind sale by Xiaomi, offering Mi Fans and consumers an opportunity to pre-book the smartphone prior to its launch.
Slated to launch on July 17, the Redmi K20 series is the first flagship line-up from the Redmi brand. The ‘Alpha Sale’ will allow Mi Fans to reserve a Redmi K20 series smartphone for themselves and get the device before it reaches the wider market. Participants in the ‘Alpha Sale’ will be able to reserve a unit for themselves starting July 12, 12 p.m. onwards for a token amount of Rs 855 across Mi.com and Flipkart, after which a final check-out for the purchase will be announced on July 17.
The ‘Alpha Sale’ amount, if not redeemed, will automatically be refunded to the respective Mi.com account, while Flipkart users will be able to use the coupon for any other purchase on the platform.
The Redmi K20 is rumoured to be priced between Rs 18,000 - Rs 20,000 and the Redmi K20 Pro is expected to come in Rs 25,000- Rs 30,000 segment.
The Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro are expected to come with a nano-holographic technology, a 6.39-inch full-HD+ AMOLED displays with 19.5:9 aspect ratios and a screen-to-body ratio of over 91 per cent.
The smartphones will be powered by a triple rear setup consisting of a 48MP primary sensor, a 13MP wide-angle camera and an 8MP depth sensor. At the front, there will be a motorised 20MP sensor. The only difference between the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro’s 48MP primary camera is the sensor. While the Redmi K20 Pro uses a Sony IMX586 sensor, the Redmi K20 uses a Sony IMX582 sensor.
