Qualcomm reveals phones powered by Snapdragon 865 flagship chipset

Qualcomm has revealed the names of a few smartphones that have launched, or will launch with the Snapdragon 865 flagship processor at their core. The OEMs include Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and Asus.

American chipmaker Qualcomm has revealed the names of a few smartphones that will launch with the company’s latest flagship mobile platform, the Snapdragon 865. The list also includes devices that will have 5G support. While global OEMs like Samsung, iQOO and Realme have already launched smartphones with the processor, brands like Asus, Black Shark, Fujitsu, Lenovo, Nubia, Oppo, Redmi, Sharp, vivo, Xiaomi and ZTE have announced they would soon launch devices with the chipset.

‘As the world’s leading wireless technology innovator, we are committed to driving and scaling 5G to the consumer. This year, the Snapdragon 865 will help make 5G accessible to billions of smartphone users around the world, further enabling immersive mobile experiences like high-speed gaming, intelligent multi-camera capture and all-day battery life,’ Alex Katouzian, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Mobile, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc, said in a statement.

Qualcomm also says that more than 70 designs have been announced or are in development since the launch of the chipset. Additionally, more than 1,750 designs have been announced or are in development based on the company’s Snapdragon 8-series mobile platforms. The Snapdragon 865 features Qualcomm’s second-generation 5G Modem-RF System, the Qualcomm Snapdragon X55. It also enhances Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth audio with the Qualcomm FastConnect 6800 mobile connectivity subsystem. The company says that the chipset will allow Gigapixel-speed photography, and its Snapdragon Elite Gaming tech & 5th generation Qualcomm AI Engine will deliver desktop-level features for intelligent and intuitive experiences.
