If there is one brand that has gone toe-to-toe with Xiaomi in India, it is Realme. Initially a sub-brand of Oppo, Realme has been competitively pricing its products in the market which has been ruled by its Chinese counterpart. Adding more competition to the sub-10k, and foraying into the high-end smartphone segments, Realme has launched the Realme 5s and Realme X2 Pro respectively. Let’s see how the company wants to upset its rivals.
First the pricing. The Realme X2 Pro starts at Rs 29,999 for 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. Customers have to shell out Rs 33,999 to get the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version. There is a special edition called ‘Realme X2 Pro Master Edition’ that will be available for Rs 34,999. It will also have 12GB RAM and 256GB storage and will be available during Christmas. The Realme 5s, on the other hand, can be purchased for Rs 9,999 (4GB RAM and 64GB storage), and Rs 10,999 (4GB RAM and 128GB storage). The first sale will be on November 29 on Flipkart and Realme.com.
The flagship Realme X2 Pro’s USP is 50W SuperVOOC charging, which the company demonstrated during the event. After 19 minutes of charging, the phone was at 78 per cent battery. The phone has a 4,000mAh battery and the company claims that the 50W charger in the box can charge it fully in 35 minutes. Under the hood, the phone has Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ mobile platform coupled with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. The smartphone sports a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, and its is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and the back.
When it comes to the photography, the phone shoots with a quad camera setup that comes with a 64MP primary sensor (Samsung GW1), a 13MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and 20x hybrid zoom, an 8MP wide-angle camera with an integrated macro shooting sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, the phone has a 16MP shooter.
The Realme 5s features a 6.51-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor and ships with a 5000mAh battery. The smartphone will be available in Crystal Red, Crystal Blue, and Crystal Purple colours. The Realme 5s also has a quad camera setup, with 48MP primary Samsung GM1 sensor.
