Realme XT with 64MP camera to launch in India today: Specs, features and where to watch

After teasing it for a few weeks, Realme will finally launch its first 64MP camera phone in India today. Called Realme XT, the phone sports a quad-camera setup on the back and will retail on Flipkart.

Realme will unveil its first smartphone with 64MP camera in India today. Called the Realme XT, the phone will be launched at an event that will begin at 12.30pm. The Chinese company has been teasing the phone since long and it has already revealed a lot of information about the phone. The USP of the phone is its 64MP camera sensor, which is manufactured by Samsung. Relame India CEO Madhav Sheth confirmed the name of the device at the launch event of Realme 5 earlier this year.

Realme XT specifications

The Realme XT features a 6.4-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch. The phone is wrapped in Gorilla Glass 5, and it sports an in-display fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, the phone will come equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 mobile platform. The SoC will be offered in three RAM and storage options: 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, 6GB RAM with 64GB storage, and 8GB RAM with 128GB of storage. The phone draws power from a 4,000mAh battery that has support for 20W VOOC 3.0 fast charging. The Realme XT runs on Android 9 Pie, with ColorOS 6 on top.

As mentioned, this will be Realme’s first handset with 64MP camera sensor. It was developed by Samsung Semi Conductors and was launched in May. Called Bright GW1, the sensor has a resolution of 64 megapixels and uses Samsung’s ISOCELL  and tetracell technology which basically uses a method of combining four pixels into one to yield 16MP binned images. The 1/2-inch sensor features the highest resolution in Samsung’s 0.8μm-pixel image sensor lineup. The other camera in the quad-camera setup module are an 8MP wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front is a 16MP camera housed in the waterdrop notch.
