Two affordable smartphones, the Redmi 8 and the Vivo U20 will be up for grabs today at noon on various online platforms. While the Redmi 8 will be available on Flipkart and mi.com, the Vivo U20 can be purchased from Amazon and Vivo’s online shop. Both the phones were launched in multiple RAM, storage and colour options. The Redmi 8 can be purchased for Rs 7,999 (3GB RAM + 32GB storage) and Rs 8,999 (4GB RAM + 64GB storage) in Emerald Green, Onyx Black, Ruby Red, and Sapphire Blue colour options. The 4GB variant of the Vivo U20 is priced at Rs 10,990 and the 6GB RAM variant can be purchased for Rs 11,990. The handset is offered in Racing Black and Blaze Blue colours.
The Redmi 8 features 6.22-inch HD+ display with Dot Notch and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset paired with up to 4GB RAM and up to 64GB storage. The handset features an IR blaster, 3.5mm audio jack, and the phone's back panel comes with P2i splashproof coating. In the optics department, it comes equipped with a dual camera setup on the back. There is a 12MP Sony IMX363 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture lens. The secondary shooter is a 2MP depth sensor to click portraits. On the front is an 8MP AI-powered selfie camera. The Redmi 8 packs a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
The U20 sports a 6.53-inch full-HD+ Halo fullview display that offers 90.3 per cent screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 mobile platform, which is coupled with up to 6GB of RAM. The device is equipped with a 16MP selfie camera and an AI triple camera setup at the back - 16MP Sony IMX499 (Primary + Night Mode) + 8MP (Super Wide Angle) +2MP (Super Macro). The handset has a 5,000mAh battery that comes with 18W dual-engine fast charging technology. The U20 also supports reverse charging tech and can charge other devices like a mobile power bank with an OTG cable.
