Reliance JioFiber is now offering a free 10Mbps new broadband plan for households in the wake of lockdown caused by the Coronavirus outbreak. The broadband plan, which is a part of the company’s Corona Harega India Jeetega initiative, does not come with an FUP limit but the daily data limit of 50GB. The Mukesh Ambani-led company also launched special work from home plans. It should be noted that the benefits of the plans are effective until the lockdown is lifted.

The existing Jio users will get double data based on their plan’s current FUP limit. Those with no Jio connection will have to sign up for the plan from Jio’s official website or the MyJio app. Those who have requested will get a new connection only if their area is geographically feasible. The company will charge a refundable deposit of Rs 1500, and the users will also have to buy a router.

Reliance Jio work from home plan: After the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) asked telcos like Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea, and BSNL to extend the validity of prepaid plans and ensure uninterrupted voice and data services during the period of lockdown, Reliance Jio introduced a special work from home plan. At a subscription price of Rs 251, the user gets 2GB data per day for 51 days, however, there’s no calling or SMS benefits.

If you are already a subscriber of the plan, the work-from-home plan will be added up to your data after you have exhausted your current daily plan. Additionally, Jio has one prepaid plan that offers 3GB data every day. With a subscription cost of Rs 349, the plan comes with unlimited calling, 100 SMSes per day, and 28-day validity.

Meanwhile, Airtel has also announced an extension of the validity period of its over 8 crore prepaid connections until April 17. The company said it will also credit talk time of Rs 10 in these accounts in the next 48 hours. Reportedly, the company will not recover Rs 10 credit given to its customers. BSNL and MTNL have also extended the validity period of their prepaid mobile services till April 20 and are also offering talk time worth Rs 10.

Vodafone Idea has introduced new plans during the lockdown. There are Rs 49 and Rs 79 All-Rounder plans. The Rs 79 All-Rounder plan comes with 28-day validity, Rs 64 talk time and 200 MB data. All voice calls are charged at the rate of one paisa per second. The Rs 49 All-Rounder plan provides a talk time of Rs 38, 100MB of data, and 38-day validity.
