The newly launched Sony RX0 compact digital camera is available across all Sony centres, Alpha Flagship Stores and Sony authorised dealers at Rs 64,990, starting February 23 onwards.

Japanese tech giant Sony today launched an all new versatile RX0 camera that brings the advanced imaging quality capabilities of the company’s popular RX camera line-up to a robust, waterproof, ultra-compact body.

The RX0 camera offers anti-distortion shutter, up to 16fps continuous shooting, up to 960fps/1000fps. The RX0 packs a large 1.0-type Exmor RS CMOS image sensor, back illumination technology to allow more light to let in at shots taken at up to ISO 12800, and attached DRAM chip for faster large-volume output.

With anti-distortion shutter users can shoot as fast as 1/32000 second, as well. This feature reduces the rolling shutter effect experienced with fast-moving subjects, the company said.

The new portable RX0 is waterproof at depths of up to 10 metres (33 ft) on its own, and can be used at up to 100 metres (330 ft) depth when paired with the new MPK-HSR1 Housing. The camera is shockproof when dropped from a height of two meters (6.5 ft) and crushproof to 200kg that makes it durable enough to withstand tough shooting conditions including rain, sand, dust, snow and more, where traditional cameras simply cannot operate.

To maximise the potential of RX0, Sony has released a wide variety of accessories such as VCT-CGR1 Cage for increased system flexibility, the MPK-HSR1 Housing (enabling the RX0 to be taken down to depths of up to 100 metres underwater), the CPT-R1 Cable Protector, VF-SPR1 Spare Lens Protector, VFA-305R1 Filter Adaptor Kit (includes filter adaptor, lens hood and MC protector), NP-BJ1 Rechargeable Battery Pack and ACC-TRDCJ Accessory Kit.

The newly launched RX0 will be available across all Sony centres, Alpha Flagship Stores and Sony authorised dealers at Rs 64,990, starting from February 23 onwards.
