Sony India has reduced the prices of three of its smartphones from 2017. This probably hints that the Japanese company is soon planning to launch its 2018 Xperia series – XZ2 and XA2 – in India.

The Xperia XZ Premium will be now priced at ₹49,990, which was earlier available at ₹59,990. The XA1 Ultra will now be priced at ₹22,990, which was priced at ₹27,990, and Xperia XA1 Plus will now cost ₹19,990, down from ₹24,990.

The Xperia XZ Premium features a 4K HDR 5.5-inch display, which is synergised with Sony’s very own Bravia TV technology. It runs on Snapdragon 835 SoC with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable memory. The phone has 19MP main camera and 13MP secondary sensor.

The XA1 Ultra features a 6-inch display. At the back there is a 23MP 1/2.3” Exmor RS for mobile sensor, bright F2.0 lens. XA1 Plus has the same camera as the XZ1 Plus but a smaller 5.5-inch display. Both these phones are powered by the MediaTek Helio P20 processor and feature 4GB RAM.

The 2018 Sony Xperia smartphones consist of the XA2, XA2 Ultra, XZ2 and the flagship XZ2 Premium. We expect them to be launched in India very soon, so that Sony can hold its own against 2018 Samsung smartphones.
