With more than 900 million active users each month, Telegram and WhatsApp are presently leading the messaging app market. Except for personalised stickers, Telegram routinely releases new features and enhancements for users ahead of its competitor WhatsApp, which contributes significantly to the platform's reputation. The firm has now rolled out a substantial update with 15 new features to improve the overall user experience. This update brings new features like live location sharing, recommended channels, and other tweaks to improve user convenience and functionality. You may check for updates on the Google Play Store.

Profile Updates

You may now see how your profile appears to others by clicking the 'My Profile' section of Settings. Users can update their profile with their birthday in addition to this. Your friends will know when to wish you this way. Your profile page now has the option to include your Telegram channel. Users will be able to quickly view your channel and the most recent updates shared on it on your profile. Linking collectible usernames will be another update to the profiles. You can see more details about a user's collectible by tapping on their anonymous number or collectible username.

Recommended Channels

In the search interface, Telegram has included a new option called "Channels," which displays every channel you follow. Additionally, it suggests a few channels for you to follow. This modification is coming with the most recent upgrade.

Reaction Alerts

Now, Telegram will alert you when a user responds to one of your messages. Reaction alerts are configurable on the Notifications page. Go to Settings > Notifications and Sounds > Reactions to access it.

Regulating Group Chats

Admins can save time when regulating group chats. They may organise large groups in one go. For example, they can report, delete, and prohibit many users with the click of a button.

Location Sharing

Telegram users may now let others track someone on their travels by sharing their real-time location with entire group chats or individual users. Also, users have the option to customise the duration of location sharing, ranging from 15 minutes to 8 hours.

Profile Pictures in Forwarded Texts

Telegram has started to show user profile pictures in forwarded messages. This allows other users to connect back to the message sender's account. However, users can restrict who can link back to their account, and your profile picture will not appear in forwarded messages.

Custom Emojis in Poll

Telegram Premium users can now use animated and customised emojis in polls. This is a minor but noticeable change that is welcomed.

Other Features

Reaction Management is one of the additional tools available to premium customers, allowing them to manage the maximum number of relations on a post. You can now read stories anonymously if you have Telegram Premium. Furthermore, premium users can now earn incentives for unhiding adverts. Telegram has also made a few more minor adjustments. On the desktop app, you may compact recent actions into groups and view them instantly.
